9th CADS Saturday Club* - CADS Saturday Club is an inclusive group offering dance & drama. It is held in the Common Room at the Seashell Trust every Saturday during term time. Current sessions are 9:30-10:45am 4-7 year olds; 10:45-12:00pm 8-12 year olds; 12:00-1:00pm 13+ years old. 10th Friendship Club* - The Friendship club is a group for children with DS aged 5+, their siblings and families to get together and try out different activities. It is held at the Seashell Trust on the 2nd Sunday of the month. This months activitie is bowling. Please contact Caroline at 0161 925-6153 if you would like to come along.

29th 9:30 - 2:30pm Training - Inclusion of children with Down’s syndrome – expectations of behavior - Longfords Conference Centre, Longford Park, Chorton, Manchester M21 9TA. Please return the booking form ASAP if you want to attend. By considering the learning profile of a child with Down syndrome this course will aim to address areas where difficult behaviours may develop. It will look at expectations, appropriate behaviour, including self help skills and go on to outline strategies to encourage good behaviour. There will be time for participants to discuss any particular behavioural issues. £40 per professional, £20 per parent, £10 concessions. Cost includes sandwich lunch.

9th 10am -12pm - Coffee morning We will be trying out a new venue: St Aidan’s Centre, 238 Wythenshawe Rd., Northern Moor, M23 0PH. The centre is on the corner of Wytheshawe Rd and Northolt Rd – use the big door on the corner of these roads for access. Come along for a chat, drink and browse our resources. Children welcome but not essential!.

24th - Training - Using the Written Word and ICT to promote language and communication

5th & 6th - 2 Day Primary Education Conference in Manchester*.  Day one features the learning profile, fine motor skills and writing, reading, maths and numbers, and differentiation. Day two features numeracy, transition, ICT, behaviour, and communication. Delegates will the opportunity to choose for a range workshops. Parent price is £40 per day with a 10% early bird discount if you book 6 months in advance. Venue is Holiday Inn Manchester Central Park, 888 Oldham Road, Manchester M40 2BS. 7th- School Age Speech and Language Development Conference in Manchester*.  This conference aims to improve the understanding of the commuication needs of children with Down's syndrome and features presentations on the communication profile of children with Down's syndrome; raising communication expectations; speech and language intervention; overcoming communication difficulties in everyday settings; and desired speech and language therapy input for school-age children. Parent price is £40 per day with a 10% early bird discount if you book 6 months in advance. Venue is Holiday Inn Manchester Central Park, 888 Oldham Road, Manchester M40 2BS.
